Alexander`s Italian Restaurant in Rollinsford

Went out for my father's birthday dinner. My dinner was Luke warm, Alfredo sauce was curdled, broccoli was obviously frozen because it was mushy and the meal had no flavor. I thought Alfredo sauce was smooth. I only ate a couple of bites and they would not take my meal off the bill. This place needs a lesson in cooking and customer service. My family will not be back!!

Great family place, many dishes are simply good. Solid meals, great staff, what more could you want.

Nice, cozy, they turn the lights way down at around 5:00pm. The meals are fair in size. I wish they came with a salad. I had to order it as an extra. Their marinara sauce has a slight kick to it. Overall nice place. More suited for an older crowd.

The only complaint is we waited 45 mins after ordering to get our food.

Great food friendly staff

Service was good, but holy flipping geezus was the food terrible. You know it's trash when there is a jar of grated Parmesan at the table. Broccoli was obviously frozen and then boiled to death, much like the chicken. Dried herbs are for cheap restaurants and lazy kitchen staff. I'll be passing on giving Alexander's a second chance.

If you want authentic Italian cuisine in a classic setting, this is the place to be. Wonderful environment, classy place, great staff, and even better food. The portions are incredible. I’m quite an eater, and I got two full meals from my order. I drove an hour from my hotel just to eat here, and don’t regret a moment of it. I tend to be quite picky about service, and despite the nearly full dining area, I was never left wanting. If you’re in the area, or even have to travel just a bit, this place is a must to visit.

I really hate giving bad reviews, but I just cannot lie about this one. I ordered one the most basic meals on the menu. Linguine with meatballs and side of garlic bread. To be honest it was nothing special. Linguine was way over cooked and the sauce was pretty bland. And the cheesy garlic bread tasted so bad i couldn't even finish it. I dont even understand what I was eating.

Get their lemon creme cake after dinner. You won't be sorry.

Hate to be so blunt but the food I ordered was trash! wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. And how do you mess up cheese on garlic bread? Dried herbs in an herb broth? All I tasted was way to much oregano. Sad to say but will not be going there again unless they hire a new cook!

Alexander's is like eating at Grandma's house on a Sunday. Their food is delicious, the staff is always pleasant, and I love how they have retained their charm. I'm particular about meatballs and theirs taste just like the ones my nonna used to make (sans raisins). Also, their house rosé is incredibly tasty.

Love this restaurant for special occasions. A little pricey but the food is great

Some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten I would highly recommend a veal parmesan and you won't be able to finish it that give you a lot to eat their outstanding

Taste good, but their pasta is hard to digest. I don't have that issue with other Italian restaurants. I also think their prices are higher than other places in the area. The poor waitress was understaffed as well and was probably covering the tables of two staff members.

It only took a minute for them to seat me but then it took an additional 20 minutes before I saw my waitress to take my drink order. They brought out bread while I waited on my drink that was stale and had almost no flavor. I ordered the Lobster, shrimp, and scallop scampi because it sounded amazing. I was amazed that anyone could make lobster, shrimp, and scallops have that little flavor. Their "scampi" sauce is nothing more than garlic and basil in olive oil which gave the undercooked pasta a slimy texture. The only thing that was done right were the scallops, they were actually cooked right and had a good flavor to them. The worst part of it is I actually paid the $42 tab for the meal instead of making them comp this tragedy they called scampi. I couldn't even force myself to finish it. Do yourself a favor (unless you hate yourself) and stay FAR away from this place. The food is NOT worth the money.

Excellent food, service and pleasant place to dine

The Alfredo was inedible, called and got my money back and threw it in the trash. The hostess was polite and understanding.

I’ve been coming here for 30 years and will for another how long I have left!! They have never changed there food quality and awesome friendly customer service They have finally (which) was needed a bit of a touch up on the inside of the restaurant.. I remember though when it was so busy you had to wait downstairs in the lounge area long ago....

No hostess at the front. Was a pleasant atmosphere. Order eggplant parmesan and ny sirloin medium rare. Horribly overcooked on both meals. Eggplant was liquid diet and steak might as well been processed cardboard.

We love Alexander's! The food is always delicious and piping hot. The staff is amazing!! They recently renovated and the decor is very nice now along with a newly paved parking lot.

I have been going there for years but never again. I had the gal to ask for my pizza to be cooked crispy, so the cook came out screaming at me that if I didn't like the product not to order it again. I have never been treated so rudely by a place of business.

My wife and I went here for our “Valentines Day” dinner (I had to work all day on actual Valentines Day). The fettuccine alfredo my wife got was not very good: it was watery and not cheesy at all. The reason this review is 4 stars is the service. Our waitress asked how it was and we told her it wasn’t that great. She immediately apologized and offered to make something else for my wife. She went with the stuffed manicotti and it was so much better! You very rarely see such amazing service as you do at this restaurant, that enough is reason to come back.

Food was pretty good. Service was Slooow. Fortunately, our company was GREAT, so that made it bearable.

Best Food in the area!

I am a long time fan of the great food and service at what is my favorite Italian restaurant. Don't change a thing. The white pizza is the best ever and the veal pizziola is from heaven.

We chose to come here out of the blue; no intentions of actually stopping here but sooo glad we did!Absolutely delicious! We ordered the tomato and mozzarella app, garlic bread with cheese, manicotti, and chicken parm. Mouth-watering!

I understand the complaints about the decor but I actually enjoy the atmosphere at Alexander's. The white pizza is unbelievable. The regular pizza is also very good - I often get sausage, mushroom, and peppers and the toppings are amazing. The eggplant parm here is my wife's favorite meal anywhere. The veal, chicken, and shrimp parm dishes are also great. One of my favorite restaurants.

Well our waitress was nice? If you’re over 75 it’s the perfect place for you if you’re on a restricted, low sodium diet. Dated, white linens, pink....and the food was unseasoned(keep that salt in check), pasta was just what I make at home (I’m no chef) and it was just blah. Clams were gritty, pasta with the Lobster bleck.. I love Italian food but this reminded me of Italian night at a hospital... sorry I wish I could say more. I should have gotten dessert but the tray she showed other customers looked like a Sams Club advertisement ....

Pricey, but oh so good. This not a "fast food" Italian restaurant, this a sit down enjoy the company of your friends and family spending time over a delightful meal kind of place. If you go be sure to order the white pizza as and appetizer. I promise you will love it.

Overpriced and overrated food. Not a lot of choices and every meal is swimming in acidic tomato sauce. Staff cannot be bothered. Overall experience was utter rubbish. Will never come back nor recommend. Stay safe and go eat somewhere else.

Easily the best Italian food within 50 miles. Always amazing. The eggplant and chicken parmesan dishes are outstanding, and they might have the best pizza in the entire state. Wish I could give them more than five stars.

A good dinner and a good option for that area. Service was pleasant and effective. Food was plentiful and good. Eggplant parmesan had skin on on which isn't my preference hut it was still good! Desserts looked good although I didn't partake since I was full already!
